Leah Robinson was the daughter of William H. Robinson and Mary Ann Stamps. She was born and died in what was White County and is now Putnam Co., Tennessee. She married Lewis Alexander Bohannon September 11, 1877 in Putnam Co., Tennessee. They had eight children and all grew to adulthood.


Putnam County Herald February 1, 1934

An aged woman and her 52 year old daughter were burned to death at their home near here Wednesday when their clothing caught fire in an open grate. The husband was badly burned in an effort to rescue them.
Mrs Louis D Bohannon, 84, wife of one of the largest landowners in Putnam, was the first of the women whose clothing caught on fire, and her daughter, Miss Jennie Bohannon, lost her life when her own clothing was ignited as she tried to smother the flames that were enveloping the dress of her mother.
Mr Bohannon, hearing the screams of the 2 women, hurried from the barn to their rescue and was badly burned in an unsuccessful attempt to put out the fire.
The accident occurred about 11:30 a.m.; Mrs Bohannon lived about 5 hours, her daughter only 3.
The Bohannon home is 7 miles south of Monterey on the Sparta road.
