John Patt McCarty
(1940 - 2017)
John McCarty, 77 of Dallas, passed away peacefully April 9, 2017 due to complications of congestive heart failure. He finally won the battle, and went home to be with Jesus. Saved by Grace is more than the marking of his head stone, it was the way he lived, and viewed his life in Christ Jesus. John was father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and beloved son. Born February 29, 1940, to Johnny "Jack" and Vera McCarty in Dallas, he grew up the brother of H.D McCarty and Jacklin Diana McCarty Vaughan. After graduating from Hillcrest High School, he went on to college in east Texas. John had a deep hunger for God's word, and cultivated his personal relationship with Jesus. He often would say, "What you see about me, is the Jesus in me coming out." Those who knew him for many years, or just a short time, were keenly aware of his strong identity in Christ. He loved to share his relationship with Jesus, and helped others to develop their personal connection with Him. His unique life experiences and walk in faith prepared him for many struggles, and allowed him to triumph in the victory of salvation in Christ. Known by John to his contemporaries, work mates, and friends, he was affectionally "Uncle Patt" to his nieces and nephews. He also answered to "JP" when called by his mother Vera McCarty. John is survived by his brother H.D. McCarty, nieces Karen (McCarty) Anderson, Heather (Brown) Isenhower, and nephews Kahle Brown, and Jason Brown. The funeral service for John will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Sparkman Richardson Funeral Home, located at 1029 S. Greenville Avenue, Richardson, TX 75081. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. Sparkman Richardson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
