RICHARD L. SHORE, 59, LEAF RIVER - Richard L. Shore, 59, of Leaf River died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007, in his home. Born Nov. 21, 1947, in Upland, Calif., to the late Wilmer Shore and Clara (Pullman) Shore, who lives in California. Married Pamela R. Varney on Nov. 22, 1981, in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. Worked as a firefighter for Rancho Cucamonga Fire Department for 22 years. Lived in this community since 2000, coming from California. Member of Leaf River United Methodist Church. Member of Leaf River Lions Club and California Firefighters Association. Richard coached youth soccer, made much of their own furniture, raced motorcycles and built and raced his own cars. He enjoyed sailing for pleasure and racing. He was loved by all who knew him and will be missed. Graduate of Chaffey High School in Upland, Class of 1965. Survivors include wife, Pam; sons, Jeff (Joyce) Shore of Hesperia, Calif., and Joey (Denise) Franchino of Boston; daughters, Nicole (Jesse) Dalton of Alta Loma, Calif., and Kelly Franchino of Leaf River; eight grandchildren; brother, Joel (Letty) Shore of California; and sisters, Terri (Louis) Ebner of Germany and Laureen Turner of Arizona. Predeceased by father. Memorial service at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, in Leaf River United Methodist Church. The Rev. Kent Svendsen, pastor, will officiate. Visitation from 4 p.m. to service time in the church. Cremation rites will be accorded. Memorials to Ogle County Hospice or Leaf River United Methodist Church.
