22 COUNTY MEN INDUCTED
INTO ARMY SERVICE
Twenty-two Roger Mills County men were inducted into the service of the United States army last week. They went to Oklahoma City Friday, October 23 for finial examination and were then inducted into service.
They are:
Paul J. A. Lackey, Cheyenne,
In February 1958 Paul was living in/near Hammon, Oklahoma.
In November 1964 Paul was living in/near Hammon.
In May 1973 Paul was living in/near Hammon.
In September 1979 Paul was living in/near Hammon.
In October 1981 Paul was living in/near Hammon.
In April 1990 Paul was living in/near Hammon.
In March 2002 Paul was living in/near Hammon.
Funeral services for Paul Lackey were conducted Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. from the Hammon School Auditorium with Dolan Ivey officiating. Interment will follow in the Red Hill cemetery, Hammon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home of Elk City.
Paul J.A. Lackey was born June 12, 1922 in the Herring Community to Leamon and Wash Stella Jones Lackey and passed away Sunday July 31, 2005 at the age of 83.
Mr. Lackey served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II in the Philippines and New Guinea. He was married to Gretta Faye Moler on January 17, 1950 and they dairy farmed in the Hammon area most all of their life. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hammon and was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and an infant daughter, 4 sisters and 5 brothers.
Survivors include his children: Paulla Pierce of Hammon, Billy Wayne Lackey and his wife Lynn of Hammon, Kathy Thomas of Reydon, Debba Buck of the home, Curtis Lackey and Peggy Linville of Hammon, several grand and great grandchildren and one sister, Dorothy Griffith of Midwest City, Oklahoma.
