He was the son of Perry and Frances (nee Scott) Forsythe.
He was a former agent with Independent Life Insurance and was also a former employee of Craig Abbott Realty prior to his retirement. He was a World War II Air Force veteran and remained in the Air Force Reserve attaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
