George Brooks
Haverhill. July 21-George Brooks, age 70, prominent interior decorator with offices in this city and in Boston, died this evening at his home, 27 Park St. from pneumonia. He had been ill since Friday.
Mr. Brooks was born on June 7 1866, in the house in which he died, son of the late William and Nancy (Connor) Brooks. He was educated in local public schools, St Johnsbury, VT Academy, and the Mitchell School in Billerica.
For many years he was in the dry-goods business with his father and brother, but was in interior decorating business for the past 30 years.
Mr. Brooks was a member of the North Congregational Church. He was a 32d degree Mason, a member of the Pentucket Club, Haverhill Country Club and a past President of the Haverhill Rotary Club.
Surviving Mr. Brooks are his wife, Mrs. Fannie (Noyes) Brooks, a daughter, Mrs. Chesley T. Bixby, a grandson, Benjamin Bixby, all of this city.
