He was born June 17th, 1943 to Raymond E. Alderman Sr. and Mary E. DeVore (Alderman) at Copley Hospital in Aurora, IL. He married Sue Gooch on April 16th 1977 in Oswego, IL. She survives.
Survivors also include his father, Ray Sr.; daughter; two stepdaughters; three grandchildren; two aunts; one uncle and several cousins. He had two special friends that he loved like brothers.
Ray was preceded by in death by his mother in April 1998 and his grandparents.
He was a veteran of the U.S Navy, serving aboard the USS Pierce DE as a machinist mate 1967 -1969. His hobbies included music, bowling, woodworking and experiential aircraft. He was a member of the American Legion in Yorkville and Poplar Bluff.
Until his retirement in June 2007 he was employed at Henry Pratt Co. in Aurora, Retiring from there in 1980 and continuing his career in the nuclear valve industry at Crane Valve in Bolingbrook IL.
He was loved be all who knew him; his death will certainly leave a big void in the hearts of many.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 21st at Deiterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Av. Montgomery, IL from 2:00 4:30 pm with a get together following in the reception room at Dieterle Memorial Home
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the American Cancer Society.
