Anthony Arcangelo, of East Haven, formerly of James St, New Haven, died at the VA Medical Center of West Haven. Son of Charles and Anna Esposito Arcangelo.

He owned and operated Degnans Restaurant for 20 years until retiring in 1974. Anthony proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Rolf. He received the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Ribbon, American Theater Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, and Victory Medal during his tour of duty. He was also a member of the Italian-American Club of Dallas, Texas, was an officer in the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Oak Cliff Chapter 32, also in Dallas, Texas and was a member of the DAV her in Connecticut.

He is survived by a daughter, a sister, brother-in-law, his grandson and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Charlotte, three brothers, Ralph, James, and John Arcangelo, and two sisters, Frances Meizies and Nancy Pisaturo 2 Mar 2013.

The funeral left the East Haven Memorial Longobardi-Brennan Funeral Home on Feb 18 for a funeral Mass at Our Lady of Pompeii Church. Burial with full military honors took place at St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven.
