Cecil R. Chinn, 72, of the 8200 block of Gygax Road, Norfolk, VA, passed away January 20, 2010.

A native of Kentucky, he was the son of the late Chloe and Doyle Chinn, Sr. He was a self-employed master painter. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trades for 40 years.

He is survived by his wife, Gene I. Chinn; one daughter, Sherry Hayes and husband Doug; two step-daughters, Patricia Jahns and Priscilla Drew and husband Tony; grandchildren, Scott Drew and wife Kendra, Shannon Drew, Brent Lewis, Nicholas Hayes and Brianna Hayes; two great granddaughters, Tanner Drew and Riley Drew; and two sisters, Mary Kleycamp and husband Dr. Paul and Geraldine Turner and husband Jack. He was predeceased by three brothers, Doyle Chinn, Phillip Chinn and Vernon Chinn.

The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel beginning Saturday at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society or ALS Foundation.
