March 23, 1894
The death of Margaret Shaw, wife of Hollet Abrams, occurred in this village, Friday March 16th, after along and painful illness. For weeks it had been known that the end was near at hand and when at last the call came, it came as a merciful deliverance from the intense physical suffering. Mrs. Abrams was born near Pleasant Brook in this county and was in the 55th year of her age at the time of her death. She came to this village when but a girl, and the most of her life had been spent here. IN 1863 she was married to Hollet Abrams, who with two daughters - Misses Nettie and Cora, and three brothers and four sisters, is left to mourn her loss. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church of this village, and will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. W.T. Blair at the house, Sunday afternoon - Interment in Lakewood Cemetery.
