…Her Obituary read: "Orpha Schrandt 06/06/2002 CLINTON, Iowa -- Orpha L. Schrandt, of 600 14th Ave. N., formerly of West Union and Edgewood, died Tuesday, June 4, 2002, at Wyndcrest Nursing Home, Clinton. Memorial services will be later at Trinity United Methodist Church. No visitation will be held. The body was cremated. Burial will be later in West Union Cemetery. Snell-Zornig-Dennis A. Lemke Funeral Home & Crematory, Clinton, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Schrandt taught school for 29 years, six years in the Clayton County rural schools, one year teaching fourth grade in the Colesburg schools, two years teaching fourth grade in the Nevada, Iowa, schools and 20 years in the West Union schools, teaching third and fourth grades. She retired in 1976.
Orpha Miller was born Nov. 9, 1910, on the family farm near Edgewood. She married Merle Pilgrim in 1930 in Manchester. She later married Walter Schrandt in West Union. He died in 1984.
Survivors include sons, Curtis Pilgrim, Thomson, Ill., and Kenneth Pilgrim, Charlotte; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia Ash, Edgewood; and brother, William "Jack" Miller, Marion."
She was the daughter of Ellen STONE & William MILLER
