Roy, age 86, died at Freeman West Health System in Joplin. He was the son of son of Millard and Mable Alice (McClellan) Hurst. He served in the US Air Force Military Police during the Korean Conflict and US Navy Reserves. Survivors include his brothers, Larry Hurst and Richard Hurst. He was preceded in death by his companion, Lutitia Woodworth, his parents, and his siblings, Dean Hurst, Orla Hurst, Joe Hurst, and Nancy Hurst. Graveside services were held at Elmwood Cemetery in Chanute, with military honors by Boestler-May Post #170 American Legion.
