Thelma Dixon, 88, of Tucson, Arizona died this past Thursday. She was born in Florida and was raised in West Virginia where she lived until the early 1950¡äs before moving west with her husband and children. She has lived in Tucson since 1972. She was married to a coal miner, Robert L. Dixon in 1930, and was preceded in death by him, as well as an infant son, John Alderson. Thelma had many talents ¨C sewing, needlepoint, cooking, canning, and her favorite, gardening, especially her roses. Thelma is survived by her son, Robert Dixon of Tucson; her daughter, Betty Jo Otis of Phoenix, and daughter, Mary Ganem of Tucson; brother, Lacy Myles of Fernley, NV; sister, Clementine Koontz of Oxnard, Calif. She had five grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 23, 2000 at BRING¡¯S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carondelet Hospice Services, 1802 W. St. Mary¡¯s Rd., T/A 85745-2690.
