Born on October 10, 1921 in Estill County, Kentucky, she is the daughter of Fred and Bertha (Richardson) Kirby. She had been a custodian with the Union County School Corporation for 19 years retiring in 1991. She was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church.
She is survived by four daughters and sons in law, Bertha Sue and Larry Power of Carmel, IN, Elizabeth Ann and Jerry Personette of Richmond, IN, Betty Irene and Jennings Winkler of Brownsville and Wanda R. Salyer of Connersville; two sons and daughters in law, Alva and Sharon Reed, Jr. of York, SC and Leo and Donna Reed of Connersville; a brother, Marshall Kirby of Estill County, KY; two sisters, Viola Dunaway of Huntington, IN and Lena Winkler of Hamilton, OH; nine grandchildren;10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother Garland Kirby.
