A graveside service was held June 1 in Fort Hill Memorial Park, Lynchburg, Va., for Ruby Winstead Parks, 85, of Lynchburg, Va., who died May 29.
Born Aug. 25, 1921, in Spring Hope, she was the daughter of Willie William and Mary Bass Winstead.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Alfred Parks, Jr.; and two sisters, Mildred W. Green and Doris W. Webb.
She is survived by her six children, Chauncy Parks of Alcoa, Tenn., Joy E. "Pete" Parks of Matthews, Dana Lee Parks, Sr. of Virginia, Frankie P. Dalton of Burlington, Allene P. Pack of Rustburg, Va., Sarah P. Shaeff of Goode, Va.; two sisters, Sylvia W. Rice and Joan W. Lamm, both of Wilson; brother, Rufus William Winstead of Wilson; 21 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. [grandson: Lucas Judd Pack]
Memorials may be made to Special Olympics of Campbell County, Forest, Va., or the Leukemia Society.
