Mrs. Abbie Bruce Rix, 91, died 7:20 a.m Tuesday in Norfolk. The funeral will be held Friday. She was born May 12, 1860 to Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Bruce at Wolcott, Virginia. At the age of 9 she moved with her parents to a Waterloo, Iowa farm now where the city stands. She was married on Dec. 17, 1881 to E. J. Rix at Webster City, Iowa. They moved to Norfolk in 1887. He died in March 1932. She was survived by 2 sons: H. B. at Battle Creek, Frank R. at Norfolk, 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 sons, 1 daughter Mrs. Mabel Rix Mallory on May 16 1951; 2 sisters.
