Charles High Wilkins Sr., 84, of New Prospect, SC, died Monday, April 24, 2017, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born October 25, 1932, in Rutherford County, NC, he was the son of the late David Samuel Wilkins Sr. and Alma High Wilkins.
A U. S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Wilkins was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church, and retired truck driver with Arrow Automotive.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Harvie Ann Johnson Wilkins; children, Lisa Wilkins Heatly (Richard) of Inman, SC, Libby Wilkins Arms (Dale) of Knoxville, TN, and Charles H. “Chuck” Wilkins, Jr. (Rianne) of Inman, SC; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Martha Wilkins of Forest City, NC; numerous beloved nieces and nephews; and his beloved Yorkie, the love of his life, “Mia”. He was predeceased by one brother and two sisters.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, April 28, 2017, at Floyd’s Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 Hwy 9 N, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Floyd’s Boiling Springs Chapel, by the Rev. Matthew Bishop.
