David Smith, age 73, of Rowlett, TX, passed away April 1, 2017. He was born October 9, 1943, in Dallas, TX, to David Hubert and Hazel Lorraine (Summers) Smith. David served his country proudly in the United States Navy and later worked in the trucking and shipping industry.
He is survived by his sisters: Susan Jenkins and husband Tommy, Martha Westfall and Frieda Katherine Jenkins and husband Don; nieces and nephews: Kimberly Bolletino and husband Ryan, Tommy Jenkins, Jr., and wife Theresa, Edward Jenkins and wife Aimee, Tammie Fisher and husband Michael, Eric Jenkins and wife Tammy, Kristi Trimble, Diane Jones and husband Skip, Gary Westfall, Ashley Hamilton and husband Jake and Don Jenkins and wife Sheila, and grandchild: Shannon Coxs. He was preceded in death by nephews: David Harr and Jerry Westfall.
Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Thursday, April 6, 2017, at Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church, 8000 Miller Road, Rowlett 75088, with Pastor Tommy Jenkins officiating. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service beginning at 11:00am. Interment is pending at DFW National Cemetery.
