Earl Clinton Johnson, 89, of Oneonta passed away Friday, August 2, 2013 at Fox Nursing Home in Oneonta, with his wife Rita of 48 years by his side. He was born the son of Leo L. Johnson and Hazel B. (Ricks) Johnson. He married Rita Dunn on August 10, 1964 in Bristol CT. Earl Served his country from 1943 to 1946 in the United States Army receiving honors; Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal and the American Service Medal. He was employed by Beacon Feed and later began his own business, Earl C. Johnson Enterprise, which he ran for thirty-five years. Earl was a member of the American Legion, he enjoyed carpenter, plumbing and electrical work. He enjoyed listening to 40’s music, traveling and spending time with his family. He is survived by his two sons, Earl L. Johnson (Brooke) and Tad C. Johnson (Leslie); his three daughters Bobbie Martindale, Lark Byam (Keith), and Patricia Moore (Bill); his grandchildren, Matthew, Josh, Rachael, Stacia, Lori, Sarah, Robert, Kevin, Ethan, Emma and many great grandchildren. Earl was predeceased by his brothers and sister.
