Mary Jane Galer's list of persons interred in the New Cemetery area of Linwood shows: A. W. WHITE died aged 65 years on Seventeenth Street between Second & Third avenues [Columbus, Georgia] of pneumonia; buried 07 JAN 1895 in Section C, Lot 873 1/2 - Sexton Jesse Alec BEARD.
This grave is probably not identifiably marked. Others reported to be in Section C, Lot 873 1/2, include L. V. WHITE (buried 11 JUL 1882, aged 22 years), and several STEPHENSON individuals. These STEPHENSONs have marked graves in Dolores Autry's Section J, Lot 223, leading her to conclude that the WHITE graves are also here as well, but unmarked - see her "Historic Linwood Cemetery" book, Volume 3.
Note that Margaret WHITE (buried 22 NOV 1901, aged 80 years - apparently at or near the same address as L. W. WHITE) is reported to be in Section 2, Lot 873 1/2, where no other burials are reported. Perhaps she is in Section C, rather than Section 2, and so in the same lot with L. V. and A. W. WHITE. Alternatively, they may actually be in Section 2, in the same lot with Margaret, in which case they are likely to be in Autry's Section D, on the west side of Ash Street, just north of Pine Street (see Autry, Volume 2).
