Kumudini Adlakha
ADLAKHA, Kumudini (Kay) – Peacefully at McCormick Home, London on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, Kay Adlakha, age 86. Wife of the late Ram Adlakha. Dear mother of Sheetal Woods and son-in-law Mark Woods. Grandma to Shawn, Matthew and Colin Whitehead, and Tamara and Matthew Woods. Great-grandma to Rachel, Owen, Sofia and Bryce. Sister to Natver Shah in India. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In the 1950’s, Kay was in the first graduating class of occupational therapists in Mumbai, India. She did her post graduate studies in Georgia, USA. After emigrating to Canada in 1961, she practiced in Regina and then London, where she was Director of Occupational Therapy at Parkwood Hospital. She later taught at The University of Western Ontario for several years before accepting a final position as Director of Occupational Therapy at Stratford General Hospital. In her retirement, she was an active supporter of the Stratford Festival and the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A memorial service will be conducted at WESTVIEW BAPTIST CHURCH , 1000 Wonderland Road South, London, on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at 3 p.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Kay are asked to consider World Vision.
