"Services for Roland C. Lau, 77, Oelwein, were Saturday, May 13 at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein. Officiating was Rev. Darwin Moore. Interment was at Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein.

Roland died on Wednesday, May 10, at Mercy Hospital of Franciscan Sisters in Oelwein, after a brief illness.

Roland Clarence Lau was born on December 6, 1928 in Clayton County, to Clarence and Isabelle (Beck) Lau.

He married Margery Faye Majors on Jan. 26, 1952 at the Little Brown Church at Nashua.

Roland worked at Rath Packing Co. in Waterloo and later farmed in the Fayette area for many years before moving to Oelwein in 1993. His favorite hobby was fishing.

Roland is survived by his wife Margery Lau; two daughters, Carol (Ernie) Wolfs, West Union, Susan Lau, Oelwein; a son, Alan (Zenda) Lau, Fayette; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two step great-grandchildren; three brothers, Darrel Lau, Oelwein, Yvo Lau, Oelwein, Ronald Lau, Orlando, Fla.; and a sister, Delores (Ronald) Kaiser, Aurora.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, five brothers, three nephews and a niece."
