Donna, "Marilyn," was the oldest child of James and Mabel McCarthy. After graduating nursing school, she made Penticton her home where she was a longtime member of the Penticton Hospital Auxiliary.
Marily was proud of her Irish heritage and delighted in hearing and telling stories of life on the farm. She enjoyed golf, bridge, doing crossword puzzles and gardening.
Marilyn was predeceased by her husband Edgar Dewdney in 1994, and husband Dave Battison in 2012.
She is survived by 3 children and 13 grandchildren.
A Memorial Service was held at St. Saviour's Anglican Church, Penticton, on Saturday, March 12, 2016.
