OBSEQUIES OF JAMES WHITE ADAMS

Many Admiring Friends Paid a Last Sad Tribute to
Pine Bluff’s Honored and Much Beloved Citizen Sunday Afternoon

The body of James White Adams, editor and publisher of The Graphic, was laid to rest in Bellwood Cemetery Sunday afternoon from the family residence, No. 612 West Fourth Avenue. The obsequies were attended by many admiring friends of the deceased. There were many beautiful floral offerings and among them was one from the employees of The Graphic who loved Mr. Adams for his generous nature, manly qualities and thoughtful consideration of them at all times. The services were most impressively conducted by Dr. W. D. Buckner, rector of the Trinity Episcopal Church, assisted by Dr. J. I. Norris, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. The Trinity Choir sang during the service. The active pall bearers were employees of The Graphic and included J. J. Harrison, B. W. Fuqua, Meyer Solmson, J. Bert Emigh, O. P. Ashley and Claude H. Monk.
The honorary pall bearers were: V. O. Alexander, J. H. Mann, R. S. Cherry, W. M. Toney, F. E. Renfrow, M. E. Bloom, John L. Mills, E. B. Bloom, A. W. Nunn, J. B. Talbot, S. C. Alexander, E. W. Freeman, D. C. Bell and A. W. Troupe.

DIED SUDDENLY

In Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Friday morning, December 18, at the family residence, No. 612 West Fourth Avenue, James White Adams, 44 years of age, editor and publisher of The Graphic. The deceased is survived by his wife Grace Johnson Adams; two daughters, Elizabeth and Henrietta Adams; two sons, James W. Adams, Jr., and Willis C. Adams; two sisters, Mrs. Edgar Brewster and Miss Jessie Adams; and two brothers, W. Q. Adams, of Owensboro, Ky., and George H. Adams, of Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was a nephew of Major N. T. White and Mrs. N. T. Roberts of this city, and J. B. Adams of Hawesville, Ky.
The funeral will take place Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from the family residence. Dr. W. D. Buckner, rector of Trinity Episcopal Church, will conduct the services assisted by Dr. J. I. Norris, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church.
The active pall bearers will be employees of The Graphic and Adams Printing Company. They are; B. W. Fuqua, J. J. Harrison, Meyer Solmson, O. P. Ashley, J. Bert Emigh and Claude H. Monk.
