John T. Anthony Sr., 72, of Brandonville, passed away peacefully Monday morning surrounded by his loving family at Ridgeview Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Shenandoah.

A viewing for family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Brandonville.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday from St. John's Lutheran Church, Brandonville, 15 W. Park Ave., Ringtown, PA 17967, with Pastor Jay Serafin officiating. Interment will take place Saturday at Brandonville Union Cemetery with full military honors. Contributions can be made in John's memory to the St. John's Lutheran Church Fund, P.O. John T. Anthony, Sr., 72, of Brandonville passed away peacefully Monday morning surrounded by his loving family at Ridgeview Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.

John was born in Baltimore, MD on July 11, 1944.

He was the son of the late Mary (Murphy) and John A. Anthony.

John was a graduate of Patterson High School, Class of 1962.

He was the husband of Donna J. (Lindenmuth) Anthony to whom he was married to for over 52 years.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard.

Throughout most of his career he worked for General Electric in the Baltimore area. He later ran a parts store for General Electric as an inventory control specialist in Glen Burnie, MD.

John was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Brandonville.

John was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed collecting antiques and cooking. Many will miss his uncanny ability to tell jokes and stories.

He was a member of the former Brandonville Citizens Fire Company, American Legion Post 289-Ringtown, Park Crest Fish & Game, and the NRA as a life member.

In addition to his spouse he is survived by; son John T. Anthony, Jr. husband of Shanzi “Kim” Jin, Shenandoah Heights; granddaughter Sara Marie Anthony, Lavelle; sister Eleanor Chamberlin, Glen Burnie MD; sister Dorothy Greeley wife of William, Whiteford MD; sister in law Wendy Lindenmuth-Wake wife of Nicholas, Joppa MD; sister in law Claire Ruth wife of David, Red Hill PA.

John is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
