Lillie K. (Helsel) Nofsker, 71, Carson Valley, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at her residence.

She was born July 25, 1945, at home in Carson Valley, daughter of the late Ellsworth and Hazel (Brubaker) Helsel. In 1963, she married Charles W. Nofsker, and he preceded her in death in 1967.

Surviving are two daughters: Robyn (James) Simon of Berwyn, and Teresa (Gary) Burkhard of Carson Valley; six grandchildren: Arrissa, Emily, Tony, Andy, Abby and Kiera; a sister, Alma Smith of East Freedom; and her extended family: Bob Stecher, Kay Wilkins, Dane and Wendy Wertman, Matt Meagher and Izella Bowser.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy in 1997; and three siblings: Alys Shaw, Galen Helsel and Dale Helsel.

Lillie was a 1963 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She retired as a packer for Fonda after 18 years of service.

She was a member of Smith Corner Church, East Freedom, and the BUNKO Club. She enjoying spending time with family, crafts, bird-watching, puzzles, nature and vacationing in Maine.

Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017, at Smith Corner Independent Mennonite Church, East Freedom, where a funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Pastor David D. McClanahan officiating. Arrangements are by Sorge Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Smith Corner Church, 1955 Johnstown Road, East Freedom, PA 16637. (sorgefuneralhome.com)
