Virginia Marie Garvey, 89, died on May 2, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at home in Allentown, PA. She was born in 1928, to the late Joseph and Hilda (Kern) Egizio in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Ginny graduated from Allentown High School in 1943. She graduated from Bucknell University as a double major in Biology and Chemistry and a member of Phi Mu sorority. During her time at Bucknell, Ginny met her future husband, Joseph David Garvey. They were dedicated to each other and their family of four children, Joseph Jr., Thomas, Kathleen and Sally.

Ginny loved math and was exceptionally good with numbers. She played competitive duplicative bridge at the Jewish Community Center in Allentown and as a member of Lehigh Country Club, she volunteered to do the scoring for the annual member-guest tournament for thirty years. Ginny loved dancing and music. In high school she performed Acrobatic adagio dance and every party in her house ended in singing and dancing. Ginny's passions included skiing with her family, gardening, attending Broadway plays and traveling with her husband, Joe and their friends.

Ginny is survived by her four children, Joseph, Jr. (Christine), Thomas (Susan), Kathleen (John Spagnola) and Sally (David Wuthrich) and twelve grandchildren.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church 1861 Catasauqua Road Bethlehem. Arrangements by the J. S. Burkholder Funeral Home, Allentown.
