Bernard "Chic" J. McCaffrey, IV, 59, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2017. Beloved husband of Nancy (Butera) McCaffrey and son of Edith (Wigley) McCaffrey and the late Bernard J. McCaffrey III, he was a resident of Hewitt for 54 years. He was employed as an assistant store manager for Shop Rite in Little Falls, NJ. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, West Milford Fire Co. #1., played baseball and softball in West Milford and was an avid golfer with the Black Bear Monday Night League in Franklin. In addition to his wife and mother, surviving are son Ryan Joseph McCaffrey, daughter Erin Lynn McCaffrey, brother Tim McCaffrey, (wife Penny), sisters Lisa Ann Picado, (husband Bert), and Alison McCaffrey and several nieces and nephews. Visitation Friday, May 5th, from 4-8 PM at Richards Funeral Home, 1440 Union Valley Road, West Milford, NJ 07480. Mass at 10:00 AM, May 6th at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 1911 Union Valley Road, Hewitt, NJ, 07421. Interment Cedar Heights Cemetery.
