Rex Franklin Oliver, 78, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017 in Winchester, VA.
The family will receive friends on Monday, May 8, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal, VA, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Sammy Campbell. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Oliver was born December 31, 1938 in Warren County, VA, son of the late Roy Franklin Oliver and Celestine Josephine McDonald Oliver.
He retired as a painter.
He was married to the late Joyce Ann Henry Oliver.
Surviving are his daughter, Missy Oliver; two sisters, Janie Revells and Barbara Boyd, both of Front Royal; one grandson, Brandon Oliver; and one great-grandson, Kellan Reid Oliver.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Beatrice Atkins.
A previous marriage was to Mary Frances Hankins from 1959 to 1965.
Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Henry, James Talbott, Jesse Smith, Chris Ramey, Billy Sudduth, and Brandon Oliver.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork Street, Winchester, VA 22601.
