Kathleen Hein, age 81, of Green Bay, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017.

She was born on January 26, 1936, in Kiel, Wisconsin, to the late Erich and Hilda (Reichert) Rick. Kathy graduated from Lincoln High School in Manitowoc in 1954. On August 9, 1958, she married the love of her life, James Hein, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Manitowoc. Kathy was an avid gardener and a lover of birds and waterfalls. She used her creative talents to touch and inspire the lives of those around her.

Kathy will be sadly missed by Jim, her husband of over 58 years; her children, Mitchell (Susan) Hein of Green Bay, Dennis Hein of Dallas, TX, Amy (John) LaValley of De Pere, and John (Lori) Hein of Neenah; grandchildren, Mathias Hein, Alex LaValley, Brendan LaValley, Carl Hein, and Eric Hein; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Kathy is preceded in death by her brother, Ralph Rick of Manitowoc.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1420 Division St., from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Michael Theil will be officiating. Burial will be at Ucker Cemetery in Kiel, Wisconsin.

In lieu of floral expressions, a memorial fund has been established in Kathy's name.

Kathy's family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Vincent's Hospital for their compassion, care, and support.
