He is survived by his wife, Mary N. Rains Joslin of 58 years. Children, Jennifer Joslin-Lykken and husband, Brad of Murfreesboro, TN and son Jeffrey (Jeff) and wife, Natalie of Orlando, FL. His grandsons were very special in his life. Jeffrey, II and wife, Ciera and great grandbaby, Feather Rose, Justice and Javan enjoyed his humor and handshakes, which left something in it.
He retired after 371/2 years of employment at Home Federal Bank where he loved his job and was nicknamed “Mr. Home Federal” and Senior Vice-President.
At First Baptist Church, Concord, Farragut he served as a Deacon and was part of the Sherman Patterson’s Action Class. This group of men became his golfing buddies and are asked to be honorary pallbearers as well as former Home Federal employees, Ray Thomas, Gary Underwood and David Sharp.
B.J. grew up in Dyersburg, TN where he and brothers farmed on the Mississippi River Bottoms. There he worked with the Savings and Loan, and Stephens Insurance Company. He also served on the Baptist Hospital Board in Knoxville in different roles for 15 years.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM Saturday, May 6, 2017 at First Baptist Church Chapel, Concord with a celebration of B.J.’s life to be held at 5:00 PM with Reverend Alan Duncan and Reverend Steve Peek officiating.
The family and friends will meet by 1:45 PM Sunday at the main entrance to Highland Memorial Cemetery for a 2:00 PM interment service.
