Stella Mae Hunsaker was the daughter of James and Mary Belle Throne Hunsaker. She moved to near Essex as a small child, traveling by covered wagon. She married William Anderson "Duck" Oliver on July 4, 1910. Her children were Nina Mae Oliver Boone, Sylverster Sterling Oliver Senior, Rita Mary Oliver Hume, Raymond C. Oliver, and Bill L. Oliver. She had three children who died in infancy or early childhood: an unnamed son, Burness William Oliver, and Will Oliver, Jr. Later in life she helped to raise a grandson. She is fondly remembered as being very short, a good cook, and very kind.
