"Mr. and Mrs. Lee Barrette received a telegram the first of the week announcing the death of their son, Samuel Hearst, who died at a military training camp presumably of influenza. The body of the young soldier arrived here Wednesday afternoon and interment will take place at the family cemetery on Hurricane. The young man had many friends in this locality who are grieved to learn of his untimely death."
