Son of Benton Ellis and Minnie Inez (Adams) Denson. He graduated from Addison High School, Addison, Alabama in 1972 where he played varsity football and was a member of the 1971 state championship team that won the school's division. He worked as a parts manager for Cummings Sales and Service in Birmingham, Alabama and prior to that he worked for Nicholson File in Cullman, Alabama. He loved to play golf and was an avid fan of Auburn University football (WAR EAGLE!!) and the Addison High School Bulldogs. He is survived by his wife, two sons, a stepdaughter, five grandchildren, and two brothers.
