Charles W. Allen, 76, of Birdseye, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003, at Medco Health Center in French Lick.
He was born Jan. 14, 1926, in Crawford County, the son of Lewis and Josephine Dewitt Allen. He was a retired carpenter for Seifert Construction Co. in Ferdinand.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Neukam Allen; one son, Randall Allen of Birdseye; two daughters, Marsha Bowles of Birdseye and Roberta Altmeyer of Washington; one brother, Sam Allen of French Lick; two sisters, Wanda Green and Mildred Dailey, both of Madison; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Stanley Allen; three brothers; and three sisters.
Funeral services were held at Denbo Funeral Home in English, with burial in Patoka Memorial Cemetery.
