Dr. Carrol Dean Cagle, 68, passed away on June 18, 2015 in Minocqua, WI. He was born to Larence Lindall Cagle and Helen Juanita (Brinker) Cagle on October 19, 1946 in Lovington, NM. He married the love of his life, Melinda Reeves, on June 2, 1968 in Crosbyton, Texas, and they were married for 47 wonderful years.

Carrol grew up in Tatum, New Mexico, and graduated from Texas Tech University in 1968. He graduated with honors from Baylor College of Medicine in 1972, and completed his three fellowships at Baylor. Carrol was Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Oncology, and Hematology and practiced Oncology for over 30 years in Texas, Iowa, Oregon, and Wisconsin. He was a member of many professional organizations and was a founding member of the Texas Heritage Society. Carrol was an amateur naturalist, genealogist, and family historian, who published nine books on the Brinker family in America. He was a wonderful Christian husband, father, and grandfather that helped many, many people during his lifetime.

His is survived by his wife, Melinda; three daughters: Sarah, Caroline, and Anne; five sons: Jeff, Thomas, Andrew, David, and John; his brother: Glen Cagle; his two sisters: Mary Lynn Tuck and Karen McBeth; and eight grandchildren: Abigail, Elizabeth, Cameron, Brendan, Andrew, Olivia, Natalie, and Harry.

A visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home in Crosbyton from 6-7 pm on Friday, June 26, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Primitive Baptist Church in Crosbyton, with Elder Tom Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Crosbyton Cemetery under the care of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
