Marie Domanish Ayres, 92, of Dunmore, died Sunday at Little Flower Manor, Darby, Pa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund J. Ayres, on Nov. 14, 1984, after 34 years of marriage.

Born Dec. 19, 1924, in Olyphant, she was the daughter of John and Anna Beckage Domanish. She was a graduate of Olyphant High School and Lackawanna Business College. She was employed by the Scranton Temple Residency Program until her retirement in 1989, and subsequently employed by the Scranton Chapter of the American Red Cross until 1994.

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Surviving are a son, Michael E. Ayres, U.S. Virgin Islands; two daughters, Ann Ayres Hencinski of Clifton, Va., and Marilou Coleman of Brookhaven, Pa. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one nephew. She also was preceded in death by her grandson, Kevin Thomas Coleman, and her brother, John Domanish.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Church, 801 Taylor Ave., Scranton. Interment St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow. Friends may call at the church beginning at 9 until the start of Mass at 10.
