Carroll was born in Natchitoches, Louisiana on June 3, 1934 to Byrtie Tynes Booty and Artis Charles Booty.
She moved to Orange, Texas, as a small child with her family in the early 40's. Carroll was a member of Drake Presbyterian Church. She worked for a number of years with Orange Memorial Hospital as a medical supply clerk. Carroll was very active in the Orange community with being a Grey Lady at Orange Memorial Hospital, volunteer at the Orange Animal Shelter, member of the Sabine County Historical Society, volunteer for the March of Dimes and was the secretary of Jayceette's. Carroll also loved the outdoors and spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Artis and Byrtie Booty and her brother Charles Booty.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Raymond Edward "Butch" Teal; her son, Robert F. Lanning and his wife Mary Lou; two daughters, Leighia Beth Barron and her husband Richard and Rebecca Annette Owens; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
