Lura Catherine Niswanger Pacheco, 89, of Waco, passed away Sunday at a local hospital. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, at Chapel Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Drew Wilson officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Brookview Funeral Home. Mrs. Pacheco was born July 6, 1917, in Oakhurst, Texas, to Walter Drake Niswanger and Gertrude Irene Gafford Niswanger. She married Joseph Pacheco on June 19, 1958, in Cleburne. She was retired from Owens-Illinois, Inc. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, June Wharton; and brothers, Ira Niswanger and William Niswanger. She is survived by daughter, Carolyn Sparkman and husband, Ed; grandson, Steve Sparkman and wife, Mary; granddaughter, Paula Ronelle; great-grandchildren, Steven Sparkman, Heather Ronelle and Aaron Desking; great-great- granddaughters, Gypsy and Talia; and sisters, Faye Niswanger Cox and Juanita Niswanger Dolezel.
