Richard J. Fahrner, of Plainfield, passed away suddenly at his home, Thursday, May 11, 2017. Age 71 years.

Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 33 years, Sharon R. Farhner (nee Chellino); two step-sons, Tim Rumchak and Keith (Tracy) Rumchak. Four step-grandchildren, Zach, Kyle, Brandon and Haley Rumchak. Two sisters, Sue (David) Cohen and Barb (Philip) Parks. His faithful dog "Mindy" who was always by his side. Also numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, good neighbors and friends survive.

Preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Richard and Mary Fahrner; his grandparents, Lucian and May Archambeault; and a step-daughter, Kelly Stefanich.

Richard was born April 30, 1946 in Joliet. He retired from Joliet Township High School after 30 years of service in the Maintenance Department. Rich enjoyed working on his computer and spending time with his dog Mindy. He will be remembered for hi kind and giving heart, always putting others before himself, and for being a loving and devoted husband.

Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd., Wednesday, May 17th at 6:00 P.M.


Visitation will be held Wednesday from 3:00 P.M. until time of services.
