Rachel A. Presha, age 91, fondly known as “The Purple Lady,” died on May 5, 2017. A wake will be held on Saturday, May 13th, from 5 pm to 8 pm, at the Corprew Funeral Home 1822 Portsmouth Boulevard in Portsmouth and her Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, May 14th, at 10 am, in the Church of God and Saints of Christ 4300 Judah Lane in Suffolk. Interment will be in Belleville Cemetery, Suffolk.

Rachel Presha was known for her home on Route 17 which featured purple painted tree trunks and telephone poles. Her whole house, yard and everything in it was painted purple. She was always dressed all in purple.

Rachel's love of the color earned her the nickname of "The Purple Lady."

Presha said purple always made her happy.
