Virginia E. Davidson Cochran, 85, of Lower Burrell died Wednesday (June 2, 2004) in Rebecca Residence, Allison Park, West Deer.

She was born May 3, 1919, in New Kensington.

Starting in World War II, she worked in the cooking and utensil division of Alcoa in New Kensington, from which she retired. She also retired from Bankers Lithograph, RIDC Park, O'Hara, where she was a proofreader.

Mrs. Cochran was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, New Kensington.

Survivors include a stepson, Dr. John (Margaret) Cochran of Springfield, Va.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Barbara (James) Lagoon of Lower Burrell; a brother, John T. Davidson Jr. of Cleveland; and a sister, Melvina Hilton of Escondido, Calif.

Also surviving are six grandchildren, Christian (Thelma) Lagoon, Michael (Loretta) Lagoon, Robert (Gretchen) Lagoon, Mrs. Erica (Donny) Henderson, Jacqueline Cochran and Julia Cochran; and five great-grandchildren, Kate Lagoon, Lauren Lagoon, Gabriel Lagoon, Genevieve Henderson and Julian Lagoon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Cochran; her parents, John T. Sr. and Violet Kelly Davidson; a brother, Wilson Davidson; and five sisters, Mae Kelly, Violet Nixon, Margaret Kennedy, Anna Acre and Nettie Russell.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the FRANK F. GIGLER FUNERAL HOME, 2877 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell, where funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday. Officiating will be the Rev. Norma Prina Murphy. Burial will be in Plum Creek Cemetery, Plum.
