David L. Johnson, 86, of Orem died Tuesday, June 16, 1987 in Orem following a stroke.

He was born Sept. 14, 1900 to Charles Dayton and Sarah Etta Draper Johnson. He married Nellie Gillman June 2, 11926 in Salt Lake City. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

He was an active member of the LDS Church, Park Ward and served in the Elders Quorum Presidency. He served a two year stake mission to the East Los Angeles Stake and was also head of the welfare department for the East Los Angeles Stake.

He moved back to Provo in 1963 due to his health.

Survivors include his wife of Provo; one son, one daughter: Larry D. Johnson and Mrs. Thomas (Janell) Bendall, both of Orem; 11 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services were Saturday at the Berg Mortuary. Burial at Orem City Cemetery.
