TAYLOR ORR, COLORED, AGED 88, DEAD.
Taylor Orr, the oldest Colored per-son probably in Robertson or either of the adjoining counties, died Sunday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Emery Duncan, near Foster Chapel, after a lingering illness due to the infirmities of old age. He was 88 years old the past April, and was a native of Bracken county and during slave times belonged to the wealthy and well known Orr family of that county. He was well-informed, quiet, and a good citizen, His wife died several years ago while the family resided on Bee Lick, since which time he has lived with his daughter, Mrs. Duncan. He is survived by one brother, John Orr, of Indiana; three daughters, several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Colored Methodist Church in Germantown Tuesday afternoon. The interment took place in the Germantown Cemetery.
