He worked in the American Wrestling Association in the mid-1980's as part of a tag team with “Playboy Buddy Rose", and twice held the American Wrestling Association World Tag Team Championship. Mr. Douglas Duane Somerson, age 65, of Temple passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2017.

Mr. Somerson was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on September 22, 1951. He was the son of the late Carl and Dorothy Somerson. Mr. Somerson was a professional wrestler.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Jessica Somerson; two brothers, Russell Somerson and Calvin Somerson; and a sister, Shirley.
Survivors include two daughters; four sons and three daughters-in-law; one sister; two brothers; ten grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. from Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bobby Simmons officiating. Also speaking will be: Rob Adonis, Bull Buchanan and Frankie Mayhood.
Interment will follow in Piney Woods Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
