Age 93, of Edina, passed peacefully away in his home on May 15, 2017. Ernie attended the Medical College of WI (Marquette), earned his medical degree in 1948. He completed his orthopedics degree at the Veteran's Hospital in Milwaukee, WI and Massachusetts General in Boston, MA. He served as a medical captain in the Army at Fort Jackson, SC, followed by private practice in Appleton, WI before joining Group Health (Health Partners) as part of the orthopedic staff before retiring in 1990. Ernie always enjoyed film making and briefly taught students at Film in the Cities. He was passionate about music and played piano by ear. He would often take requests from his audience. A favorite was playing duet with his daughters "Heart & Soul".
