Maria Soares Avelar age 97, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 18, 2017. She was a native of Vila Flores, Flores, Azores. Maria lived in Tracy for 20 years. She had lived in Turlock for the last 33 years.
Maria is survived by: her son, Helder (Sandy) Avelar of Manteca, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Maria was preceded in death by her husband, Eduino Avelar in 1991, and her parents: Justino, and Isabel Soares.
Services: Visitation- 2:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday May 24, 2017 at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, Turlock. Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM.
Funeral Mass-1:00 PM, Thursday May 25, 2017 at Sacred Heart Church, Turlock.
Maria will be laid to rest at Turlock Memorial Park, Turlock, California.
