Scotty Lee Richards Sr., 37, of Grover, North Carolina, passed away peacefully, May 20, 2017 at Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte, NC. He was born July 26th, 1979 in Spartanburg SC.

Scotty served in the fire service for 24 years. He is a retired Lieutenant with the City of Gaffney Fire Department, and served as Assistant Chief with Grover Volunteer Fire Department. Scotty was a state certified Emergency Medical Technician. He has received many commendations in the fire service including two Maltese Warrior Awards and Life Saving Award. Scotty was also a fire service instructor at the South Carolina Fire Academy and Cleveland Community College.

During his off-duty time, Scotty was the shop foreman at ICR Electric in Shelby NC.

Scotty was a devoted husband to his wife Dawn and a loving father to his son, Lil Scotty. Scotty’s selfless giving will be forever missed by all who knew him.

Scotty is survived by numerous other Family and Friends.
