Louisiana Marriage Records have Robert Sturm married Clara Popp on 24 Nov 1894 in St Tammany Parish.

1900 Census, taken 18 Jun 1900, has Robert Sturm, 33, born Apr 1867 in Germany, immigrated in 1880, mill planer, married for 5 years to Clara, 32, born Jun 1867 in Germany, immigrated in 1880, had 4 children with 2 alive, living in 4th Ward, St. Tammany Parish. Children are: Frank, m, 4, born Feb 1896 and Louisa, f, 9m, born Aug 1899.

Clara Popp died 1909. Robert was unable to take care of all the children so the girls were put up for adoption. Jean Elizabeth Sturm was adopted by Barton Ambrose Latta and Jessie Angella Parker Latta.

1910 Census, taken 28 Apr 1910, has Robert Sturm, 43, widowed, merchant at a general store, immigrated from Germany in 1870, living in 4th Ward, St. Tammany Parish. Also in the household are: servant Isabella Pflueckhahn, f, 43, widow, who's had 3 children with 2 surviving; Isabella Pflueckhahn, f, 6, born in MS; and Almir Pflueckhahn, f, 5, born in MS.

1930 Census, taken 3 Apr 1930, has Robert Sturm, 62, retail grocer, first married at 27, currently married to Anne May, 46, born in MS, first married at 16, living in New Orleans, Orleans, TN. Children are: Hilda, f, 25, hanger at macaroni factory; Bertha, f, 21, pecker at macaroni factory; and Clyde, m, 15. Also in the household are: brother William H, 50, mill wright at a grain mill; step-daughter Julia Surgei, 23; and mother-in-law Maggie Hoffer, 78, born in TX, widow.
