GARY BRATZ
(1933 - 2015)

Gerhardt (Gary) Bratz, age 82, a lifelong resident of Valders, died early Tuesday morning, December 22, 2015 at the Manitowoc Health & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc.

He was born on September 26, 1933 in Cato, son of the late Emil and Lillian (Sebo) Bratz. Gary was a graduate of Valders High School, Class of 1951. Upon his graduation from high school, Gary started working at Lakeland Egg Co-op in the plant and as a truck driver for 1 ½ years. He joined the United States Air Force working as an engine mechanic from 1953 - 1958. Throughout his tour of duty, he traveled through many areas of the world, including Guam, Saudi Arabia, New Finland, Hawaii, Japan and England. Upon return from the service, he worked for a short period of time back at Lakeland. He then worked at Ole's Service Station in Manitowoc for 5 years, went to Reliance where he spent 19 years, 1 ½ years with Payne & Dolan from Waukesha and then moving onto Fred Radandt & Sons for 15 years, retiring in June of 1999. Gary was a 50 year member of Operating Engineers Union since 1965 and volunteered for the Valders Fire Department, Meals on Wheels and also the voting polls. He was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church, Valders.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law: Rickie & Janice Bratz, rural New Holstein, Randy & Carolyn Bratz, rural Valders, Rusty & Pamela Bratz, Seabrook, S.C.; one daughter and son-in-law: Rhonda & Robert Pilzak, Neenah; his grandchildren: Corey (Melissa) Bratz, Kyle (Jenna) Bratz, Danielle Bratz, Jacob Bratz, Sergey (Kate) Bratz, Lera Bratz, Evan Pilzak, Emily Pilzak, Elaina Pilzak, Reily Richardson/Bratz; great grandchildren: Jaxon Bratz, Maci Bratz; three sisters and a brother-in-law: Lila Horneck, New Holstein, Junell & Douglas Klatt, New Holstein, Janean Bratz, Milwaukee; one brother: William Bratz, Reedsville; and a sister-in-law: Judy Ramey, Howards Grove. Also surviving is a special friend: Caroline Alfson; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by a daughter: Regina Bratz; a grandson: Jeffrey Bratz; a sister: Audrey Bratz; a brother: David Bratz; and a brother-in-law: Roger Horneck.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders. Officiating at the Service will be Pastor Nicole Welke.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders, from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2015 until 10:45 a.m.
